Active Directory Replication

by =?Utf-8?B?U2NoZWVyaG91dA==?= <Scheerhout@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sep 20, 2007 at 02:58 AM

Hi guys,

I need some advice about Active Directory Replication.

General Info:
I manage a network with 3 dc's. and one of them is located on a remote
site
connected trough a high speed wan connection. the other to are located on
the
same site.

The replication is configured as followed:

DC1 (at site1) --> DC2 (at site1)
       <--

DC1 (at site1) --> DC3 (at site2)
       <--
(in text)
DC1 (at site1) sync's two ways with DC2 (at site1). And the DC3 sync's
with
the DC1 (at site1) two way's.

My question.
I now want to remove the DC02 server from site 1. Because the hardware is
out of sup****t. But do I need to replace the DC2 in site 1 for
fallback\backup reasons? Or can the DC3 function as fallback\backup ? My
thought was the DC3 can function as fallback\backup DC.

I hope someone can give me some advice.
