Connection details for a remote Analysis Server

by richard.oatridge@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Nov 15, 2006 at 07:55 AM

hi,

I am tying to connect an IIS server to a remote SQL 2000 Analysis
server and am having problems understanding the exact syntax of the
configuration of the datasources.xml file.

I have the Microsoft XML For Analysis SDK installed, IIS installed and
have configured it with a virtual "xmla" directory pointing to the
location of the SDK install (C:\Program Files\Microsoft XML For
Analysis SDK\Isapi).
I have a cube built and ready on the remote Analysis server.

I have looked in the help and understand that I need to configure a new
datasource (in the datasources.xml), however, the online help files do
not have any examples of how to connect to a remote analysis server,
can anyone provide me with a working example file/datasource section
that shows me the exact syntax I need to use?

Thanks in advance
