Hi there
We have a pretty strange problem with RDS.
The client application is a legacy ActiveX control written in VB6.
The server application is also written in VB6 and is a COM+ component. The
servers are windows 2000.
The client access the server through RDS, and through a NetScaler
loadbalancer.
The system has been running for years with periodic updates to both client
and server.
Now as of 11/07-2006 we are seeing a pretty strange behavior, for some
reason about 10-20% of our customers get the following error:
-2147024664: Unexpected error. (0x800700e8), Microsoft ADO/RDS.
Our sup****t unit found out through trial and error that if they reset the
browser's cookies it works?
The activeX component runs flawless.
After some time though the problem returns and the customers have to
delete
the cookies again.
The strange part is though that the customers get the error in different
locations of the program, however the same customer ALWAYS get in the same
location, again delete cookies, even from another browser, and the
program
runs perfect.
The customer runs different OS's rangen from 2000 to XP. All are running
IE
6 but different versions.
Does anybody have an idea, because we are clueless right now.
Sincerely yours
Klavs Madsen
