Been trying to learn how to get 3 tier Data Access Pages working. After
consulting numerous KB articles, one made the suggestion of testing the
RDS
configuration by testing it with the sample applications included with IIS
5.0 ( the stuff in C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\msadc). I guess
it's
still not configured correctly as I get when I run one of these pages a
windows form comes up notifying me that the activeX control is an
unregistered demo version, then the page loads in IE but before any data
loads into the sample application the IE window containing the page closes
itself. No error message...just no data and a close. Coincedentally 2 tier
Access Data Pages on this system also now seem to malfunction with an
error
that says "Data Provider or other service returned an E_FAIL status", not
sure if this is related or not. I've gone through the steps of running the
handunsf.reg file and also tried configuring the msdfmap.ini file but no
luck so far. Hoping that someone can share a clue with me...thanks for
