Hello all,
I have a problem with CS2002 and null logins to the database. Please could
somebody cast a glance over the details below and see if they could come
up
with a solution?
My Setup:
Commerce Server/IIS Machine.
1. Windows 2k3 Standard
2. CS2002 with SP2 & FP1
3. UnPup'ed the Blank Site to default website.
Database Machine:
1. Windows 2k3 Standard.
2. Installed SQL2k with SP4.
3. Installed SQL2k AS with SP3.
Both machines are on the same domain.
Upon accessing http://servername/blanksite/
I get a 500 Internal Error. My
eventviewer on the webserver has the following to say about the error:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Commerce Server 2002
Event Category: None
Event ID: 36865
Date: 07/09/2005
Time: 17:56:05
User: N/A
Computer: COMPUTERNAME
Description:
Error in Commerce Administration Object : Description -
'SiteConfig:Initialize : Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not
associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.'
Indeed I have confirmed this with a profiler trace on the SQL machine.
My question:
Why if I am using Windows Authentication, does something still try to
access
the database in an anonymous manner?
My thoughts on the matter:
1. There is some SQL connection string somewhere I have not updated.
2. In the setup for a "single box" setup, the Microsoft notes make mention
of adding the IIS_WPG as a SQL Login. In my case, this would not make
sense
and IIS and SQL are on different machine.
3. The install notes mention that there are some special setup
requirements
for multiple box setups, I thought perhaps I was a bit of a muppet and
missed
something.

Following the Installing Commerce Server 2002 notes from the MS site, I am
fine up until the heading: Adding IIS_WPG as a SQL
