Hi,
We are using Commerce Server to do some analysis on Non Commerce IIS Logs.
We are having a problem with the visit count which we feel is very high.
We
have another web analysis tool and we compared the number of visits.
Commerce Server visits are atleast 3 times higher than that shown by the
tool.
I am explaining our test scenario below:
Scenario: We have im****ted 1 day's IIS log file (non commerce server
website) into the database with the commerce server DTS task. If we see
the
count of 'requests' in the database (from 'request' table) it seems to be
fine, but the count of 'Visits' is too huge ('visit' table).
The number of requests we have is around 10000 for a day which is
fine. The number of visits it shows is like about 3000-4000, which is
quite
huge. The 'Visit Inference' while im****ting is set to 30 minutes (by
default
and that is what we want). The visits should be in the range of 1000 to
1500
keeping an average request/visit as 10 which is quite logical. But the
commerce server does not seem to interpret it that way.
How does CS calculate these visits and what can we do to change it
if
we can? Are we doing anything wrong to get these wrong visits? Could
someone
please throw some light onto this please?
