Coupons in FP1 versus click-required in pre-FP1

Hey,
I am stuck with an interesting dilemma. Our client wants to use the CSF 
functionality to display discount information to the user. However, they
also 
want to use PromoCode/coupons.

Since FP1 does coupons but not CSF and pre-FP1 does CSF but not coupons. 
Which way should I go: custom implementation of coupons?
