Suddenly, yesterday, when I tried to bring up Visual Studio, I got a
message box (five of them) with the error "Package Load Failure - Package
Visual Studio Common IDE Package has failed to load properly" It asks if
I
want to disable loading the package. I can not load any solution files.
I
am completely unable to use VS. I have made no changes to the system and
it
worked fine the day before that. I did download and install some MS
regularly scheduled updates. I tried researching the error message on
Microsoft's site and elsewhere. Everything I read talks about it occurring
if
you had previously installed a beta version and had just installed vs
2005.
That's not the case here. This was installed over a year ago and has been
working fine. I've never had a beta version on this machine. I'm running
Windows XP. I teach VB and C++ and NEED to have this working. I tried
MS's
two incident free email sup****t and it says it can't find my Product ID. I
type it in and it says it's invalid. I have no clue what has happened
here
or how to fix it. Please guide me toward a solution if you can.
