I've now tried to install VS2008-Pro. WinXP-SP2+all updates. VS2005+SPs &\
updates. Before I read readme and removed SQL. After the first two
failures
(removing all remnants and tem files) and re-reading the readme after each
attempt, I still get what appears to the same point. The error message is
non-commital. The installation panel shows "The following component
*failed*
to install:"
Microsoft VisualStudio Web Authoring Component"
and then lists all of the (other) remaining VS2008 components which has
not
installed - which was more or less the same as the original list.
