Hi All
We have two domain in our company and each domain has multiple sites. For
eg:
Domain 1 = SiteA and SiteB
Domain 2 = SiteA, SiteB and SiteC
All the locations are interconnected via site to site VPN connection and
all
the
sites have a DC, DNS and DHCP.
Recently we moved a server(****tal) from SiteA of Domain1 to SiteA of
Domain2.
The sever is joined to Domain1. The server is hosting an intranet sites,
strangely
enough user from SiteA of Domain2 can access the ****tal Serve from IE by
typing
its name but SiteB and SiteC of Domain2 cannot. SiteA and SiteB of Domain
can
access the ****tal server which make sence as ****tal is part of their
domain.
So, if the question was that if you cannot access a server from different
domain
by its name then why user from SiteA from Domain2 can? Keep in mind that
since
****tal server is SiteA of Domain2 therefore, the server is getting its IP
from
the DHCP service of Site A of Domain2.
Also, I found out that if want to brows under entire network I do see both
Domain
1 and Domain 2 but again I am able to brows resources of Domain 1 from
entire
network but when I go to Site2 or Site3 of Domain 2 I can't, give me a
error
message"You do not have access to this resources please contact your
network
admin.
This is the same from any site of Domain 1 cannot access resources from
Domain 2
throught entire network. Only Site1 of Domain 2 can access both domains.
We don't have trust relation****p between domains yet. But host A file
present
in DNS server for all the sites.
Can anyone help me with this please.
Thank you
Andrew
