Hi All
We have 2 domain in two different provinces. Under each domain there are
multiple sites. For examaple:
Domain 1 Domain 2
Site1 and Site2 Site1 Site2 Site3
Under each site we have DC,DNS,DHCP for the respective local sites. Every
location is interconnected with "Site to Site VPN connection". Recently, I
have physically moved one server(****tal) that belongs to Domain 1 to Site1
of
Domain 2. The server is hosting Sharepoint Server.
The issue is user from site2 and site3 from domain 2 cannot access the
local
intranet which is hosted by ****tal server. The Dns server from both domain
has Host A file for that server. Strangely enough user from site1 of
Domian 2
can access the server by its name with IE (keep in mind that the ****tal
server is now physically located in site 1 for domain 2 and it is getting
its
ip add from the local DHCP from site1 of domain 2).
To troubleshoot I went under entire network to see if I can see both the
domain, both domian are listed under entire network but sit2 and site3 of
domain 2 cannot surf resources by clicking domian 1, it gives an error
message like "Domian 1 is not accessible, you don't have permission to
usere
this resources.please contact your network administrator" and the same is
for
site 1 and site 2 for domain 1 but site1 of domain 2 can access resources
by
cliking domain 1 from entire network.
All sites have different subnet and each location is behind a firewall.
The
strange thing is if it was unacecssible than it would be same for site1 of
domain 2 as well but its not.
Can some please help me with this?
Andrew
PS: Domain 1 and 2 doesn't have trust relation****p between them. I though
we
don't need it for accessing resoucres like this.
