Hello,
I previously had a successful network up and running with my desktop
computer and laptop, but my 2Wire wireless modem died on me, and i
replaced
it with Actiontel wireless modem (provided by Verizon). Upon doing so, I
set
up a new wireless network, and let it assign a network key automatically.
I
then ran the network setup on the laptop to work with the new network name
and key. Both computers are part of the MSHOME workgroup. I have Windows
firewall disabled on both computers, and the Norton Internet Security
firewall is up. I set up the laptop (IP) as a trusted computer (as well
as
the router itself), and also clicked the "Allow File Sharing" on the
network
that shows up on the "Trust Control" panel.
I can access the internet from the laptop via the new network, but the
file
shares and printers are unavailable. When I try to access a previously
shared folder (that I had mapped to a drive), I get a message "The network
path was not found. This connection has not been restored". When I try
view
printers, my network printer has a status of "Unable to Connect".
In addition, I tried turning off the NIS firewall briefly, and I still
could
not access the shares.
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated!
