Hi,
I have a USB modem connection to the internet for my PC, which works OK.
I bought a cross over ethernet cable to make an Internet Connection Share
(ICS) for my labtop. Both running Windows XP.
When I select static IP addresses for the two computers (e.g. 192.168.2.9
and 192.168.2.10) they can ping each others. So far so good.
Then I run the network configuration wizard to configure the ICS on the
PC.
It seems to be OK. Then I run it on the labtop, It seems to be OK, too.
DHCP
is enabled on the labtop.
As assumed the labtop becomes an IP address (192.168.0.87) and gateway and
DNS address of 192.168.0.1
But now the problem:
The PC can not ping the labtop (request timeout) and the labtop can not
ping
the PC (at 192.168.0.1)
I searched all the help I could find on the net, but no problem like mine
occured.
Does someone have any good idea / explanation??
