In the three inch wide taskbar on the rhs of my screen
i see icons for each excel application instance.
left is the green excel mini icon, then there is text,
eg Microsoft Excel - Generic_Fac_Codes
three inches is how wide i have had to make it in order to read
all the text. after i finish my arranging, i will put the task bar back
at the bottom of my screen.
at the top of each open excel app window, is text, eg
(little green cross icon) Microsoft Excel - ...(rest of filename)
My user requirement here is to devote visible screen space to
text informative and useful to me, and none other. i have made the app
window the width I want it, and the needed text is excluded from
displayable
area by the overhead bumpf cuckoo.
About and inch and a half at the left hand side of the vertical task
bar on the right of my screen holds the little green cross and
the words "Microsoft Excel". Then, to the right of that, and only
to the right of that, comes text identifying that item.
the excel app window on my screen, I have adjusted its width to
about two and a half inches, in accordance with my overall screen design.
This means the little green cross and the text "Microsoft Excel..." take
up most or all the text space. The text which would tell/remind me which
window that is ..... is displaced.
I call this the "CUCKOO" effect.
Help please - how do I control the use of scarce space on my screen, and
devote it to the display of what I need to see, and eliminate all the
CUCKOOs, please?
how do I remove the "header", the "packaging", which has jostled itself
into pride of place, to occupy space, communicate nothing, and displace
what I need?
sorry if this is not the best choice of thread for this; any advice
will be welcome.
thanks
