I am a NT4 MCSE and SQL 7 MCDBA. Although I've worked with newer
stuff (current env is W2K3R2 & SQL 2K5) I never took any tests because
there was no benefit with my employer to do so. One thing I have
always believed about the tests, however, is that passing them at
least requires that the examinee be exposed to everything about a
product as any topic is theoretically fair game on a test.
In my current work I am on a team with a few other people but even
though I've only been here a year and a half my strength in SQL has
made me the "go-to" guy for stored procedures, triggers and general
back-end DB operations and design. As I am not all that familiar with
SSIS or Re****ting Services, I am trying to pick a certification to use
as a road map to expand my SQL knowledge into the 2K5 and then 2K8
areas. Should I just aim for MCTS or would I benefit from going all
the way to MCITP?
TIA
