Bluetooth devices cut in/out

I just purchased the new Bluetooth mouse & keyboard combo.  I have it
working 
properly and everything seems great except for this bug....when I stop
using 
my mouse or keyboard after a certain period of time (not sure how long),
but 
the devices will stop working. Then I just have to click a mouse button or

keyboard stroke and they come back. Its like they are 'sleeping' but I can

not figure out how to turn this off.  If its even possible. Has anyone had

similar problems?
