Connecting MN-710 wireless to Win ME

by =?Utf-8?B?OTEzZnJlZA==?= <913fred@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 15, 2008 at 04:10 PM

I bought an old computer ( Intel 600mhz processor, 358 meg ram, 10gig hd )

so I can receive wireless internet radio in my basement shop. It came
with
Win98SE and I successfully installed my MN-710 wireless on it and it
worked
fine.

I decided to install Win ME on the computer as a small upgrade. But, I
cannot get the MN-710 to install under ME. I have the disk for the MN-710

and it goes thru the install routine up to the step where it will try to
connect with my D-Llink router. It asks me to connect my MN-710 and
instead
of looking for my D-Link ( showing available connections and accepting the

network security key ), it just dies/goes away. No lockup or
anything...it
just goes away.

I have reinstalled WinME, and the MN-710 software several times and the
result is the same. I can sometimes get the network icons on the menu
bar,
but I am not connected to the internet.

I also did an install of XP Home and everything worked fine.

The MN-710 box says it works for Win ME.

I really want to use ME since it loads faster on the older computer.

What am I doing wrong/ what can I do?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Fred
