I've not really heard of anyone doing it that way to be honest. I'd
keep to the one BizTalk Group approach. It's the way the product was
designed to work and it prevents this very problem from happening. If
you version your artifacts you shouldn't even have to restart your
host instances in BizTalk and if you have to just down them one at a
time and everything will keep flowing through fine on the old version
(since it's all shadow copy) until you restart. Please email me if
