recently had a similar experience with a dodgey custom functoid that
would not go away.
However, I believe I finally got rid of it without having to blow away my
profile as has been suggested. Here is what I did:
1) Remove the functoid assembly from the gac.
2) Remove the functoid assembly from the C:\Program Files\Microsoft
BizTalk Server 2006\Developer Tools\Mapper Extensions folder.
3)Here's the trick! (As yet, I have had no issues in doing this - but of
course, no guarantees!)
Navigate to:
C:\Do***ents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\VisualStudio\8.0 where "username" is the username of the
session you are logged in as. Delete (or backup to another location) all 4
files named toolbox*.tbd (So toolbox.tbd, toolbox_reset.tbd,
toolboxIndex.tbd and toolboxIndex_reset.tbd)
4) If you have a new custom functoid, copy the assembly back into the
Mapper Extensions folder, and re-gac the new assembly.
5) Open your Visual Studio project - initially the app will rebuild the
toolbox. This may well recontruct the toolbox with no further action, else
go to the tools > Choose Toolbox items > Functoids then press the Reset
button.
That's it! As I said, this certainly appears to have removed the faulty
functoid from my instance.
