EXTRACT

by <JoJo> Mar 9, 2008 at 02:26 PM

Folks:

I have a folder with a large number of windows shortcut files. Each
shortcut
has a name like: "Financial Technology Markets in Tough Times (ABC123456)"
Note the presence of the code "ABC123456" that is contained in brackets
"()". Here is what I am trying to do within DOS:

  * How can I run thru the names or titles of all these windows shortcut
files and EXTRACT the code within the brackets then put that code into the
column of a spreadsheet ?
  * Also, I would like to put the other part of the name "Financial
Technology Markets in Tough Times" into a different column of the same
spreadsheet ?

Thanks
JoJo.
