NAS device block level access

by "Brad Pears" <bradp@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 16, 2008 at 01:49 PM

We are looking at integrating a NAS into our environment. One of the
devices
we are looking at is an Adaptec Snap Server 210. The saleperson sent me an

email that indicated this devices sup****ts block level access NOT file
sharing and I should be aware of that... What exactly does this mean to
me??

This device will store do***ents only - no databases will be stored and
accessed from this device. There will be no real "locking" requirements.
Users will simply be reading and storing do***ents from the drive.

I am not 100% sure if I should be worried about this or not.

Thanks, Brad
