Microsoft recommended that I try posting this problem in the NLB
newsgroup.

Here is the scenario. Two Sharepoint 2007 servers clustered using NLB.
Users access the ****tal as anonymous users, and then log in if they need
to
perform an action that requires higher privileges. The entire ****tal
works
fine. There is one specific page with randomly (see below) decides to ask
the user to authenticate when it shouldn't
The above behavior happens when both servers are in the cluster, just
server
A is in the cluster, and when just server B is in the cluster (removed by
wlbs stop).
I think this is a Sharepoint Issue, but they suggest checking to see if
anyone in this group can explain why a page that works with the anonymous
user credentials most of the time, will sometimes request addistional
credentials. See below for more details.
