An automatic OS update appears to negatively impact Network Load Balancing.
Below are the updates which dropped in coincident with the failure of NLB.
The first set on the 16th shut down NLB. We removed the updates and shut
off auto-update, but auto-update has a mind of it's own and hit us again
last night. NLB is messed up once again.
After the update, WLBS query shows that the server is still part of the
cluster, but no
traffic comes to that server. User's who are unlucky to "get" this server
in the cluster, get no data back. Stopping and starting IIS and/or WLBS
doesn't seem to help.
Looks like KB923980 or, more probably, 920213 is the culprit.
Has anyone else seen this problem or have some ideas?
TIA
Harry
