Hi. I have been chasing my tail for the last two months with Printing
Preference issues on my W2k3 servers. I am using HP laserjet 4300tn
printers
and they are s****adically having printing preference issues. The problem
is
on the Paper/Quality tab in Printing Prefernces. I cannot get the Print
Task
Quick Set to stick on the Print Server. First question, is there a way to
change the Default Print Settings on the Print Task Quick Set? If not, I
have
created a Quick Set Name, saved it, applied it, yet it does not stick. So
consequently when users go to print to their specified printer, they have
to
intervene by pressing the green check mark to pull from tray 4 instead of
the
manual tray. I am constantly baby sitting all 15 of my lj 4300tn printers
thru the embedded web browser and checking the Paper Handling settings as
well as the printing preferences. I do not know what is causing the Source
is: and Type is: settings to change. They should be set at Automatically
Select and Unspecified respectively, yet they change to Printer Auto
Select
and Labels more times than not. So I have trained MOST of my users to go
into
the printing preferences when they go to print and make sure the Source
and
Type fields are set correctly, but they are attorneys and are constantly
questioning this process. I do not know what triggered these printing
woes,
but I am getting tired of baby sitting them. So my questions are, how can
I
get the Preferences to stick and what is causing them to change? Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
