Re: Future of application center?

I'm also looking into a product replacement for App Ctr. I have tested
Repliweb. The new beta releasing very shortly will do almost everything
app
ctr does with the exception of DSNs. The new version will replicate all
webs
and App Pools as App Ctr did.
My only concern is with the aspect of failover, with app ctr is was just
the
matter of making the another member server the controller. But with
Repliweb you need to change DNS to have your new controller have the same
IP
and name as the previous controller. Other than that it works pretty well.

BTW There are not limits with Reliweb, but there are with App Crt, i.e.,
Max
combined total of 500 VDs and Webs, content size depending on num of
members
and files and directory limits as well.
We are trying to avoid System Center (SMS and MOM) using MSI to replicate
is
so rediculous it's beyond words.
