I've connected my laptop (Vista home premium) and desktop (XP home) and
trying to play a AOE3 Asian Dynasties using a LAN connection. Both
computers
recognise each other and can start a multiplayer game however once the
games
loaded neither player can do anything. The music's playing, I can click on
units, buidlings etc and they'll make their acknowledgement sound but
nothing
moves. It doesn't matter which computer hosts the game or if I try to play
AOE3 or AOE3- War Chiefs either, same problem. Neither player can resgin
from
the game either, you can bring up the menu and click resign but the menu
just
disappears and the games still on. If i shut down the program (via task
manager) on the desktop, the laptop units start moving as per normal, but
if
I shout down the laptop player the desktop player remains frozen. I've
used
my desktop to play multiplayer against another desktop (also XP) and had
no
issues so I think there's a compatability issue between the 2 OS.
Can anyone help please?
