Active X - Settings to allow

by =?Utf-8?B?TWlrZQ==?= <Mike@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Oct 4, 2007 at 10:49 PM

<begin rant> OK, first off, I now hate IE </rant>

I have a MSI motherboard and a while back I did a reinstall of Xp to help
clean things up. I went to use a USB 2.0 device (external HD) and my USB 2
is
not performing at 2.0 speed. I figured I would go to MSI and get latest
drivers. They have a Live Update that checks everything for you,
beautiful!

Anyway, I try to run it and IE Info Bar pops up and states "To help
protect
your security, IE stopped this site from installing an Axtive X control on

your computer. Click here for options..."
When I click on the bar and select "Install Axtive X" it does nothing,
still
blocks it. So I went to IE Security settings and let go of all Active X
settings (no security). Well, then IE goes into panic mode and not only
blocks the site still but also that STUPID Info bar pops up at every site
to
give me a unprotected panic message.

All I want to do is go to MSI, update my Mobo and then I will reset all my

Active X settings. I understand the risks, but IE REALLY needs to make it
easier for people to do things.

So if anyone has any suggestions I would really appriciate it.

So in the meantime I will go look into Firefox and Motzilla. I heard they
allow more settings THAT WORK!
