Keep Existing User Data When Joining Domain

by jdwilliams@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Jun 6, 2008 at 03:20 PM

I believe that this should be a fairly simple question, but I just
can't seem to figure it out on my own. Essentially I have setup a new
Active Directory domain, and now I want to start moving my users onto
it. When I do add their machines to the domain, however, it creates a
new "Home Folder" (under Do***ents and Settings). I have tried
copying over the new folder with the old folder and changing
permissions/owners and stuff like that, but nothing seems to work. I
can't believe that I'm the old one that ever wanted to do this. Has
anybody done this successfully or know how to do it. My end goal is
basically to have their user environment (and e-mail settings and
everything else) the same after we have them join the domain as they
were prior without having to re-setup everything.

Thanks In Advance.
