Incorrect Product Key

I bought a new laptop, preinstalled with Window Vista Home Basic by the 
computer manufacturer. I have activated the Window Vista Home Basic by
keying 
in the product key found on the label pasted at the bottom of my laptop.

When I open Word, it require me to activate the product key. So, I key in 
the same product key (Window Vista Home Basic product key) and it shows 
incorrect product key.

1) Is the Window Vista Home Basic product key same with Word product key?
2) The Word software is preinstalled by the computer manufacturer, and I 
don't find any other product key in the package. Do I have to purchase a
new 
product key for this activation?
