Connecting MySQL and Access 2003

by "Dan" <no@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jan 28, 2008 at 11:22 PM

I'm a newbie to MySQL and hve limitied knowledge of the .dsn files
associated with ODBC drivers. I've never had to tweak one. Usually, I
just
follow the steps of how-to's for connecting an application to Access or
Excel without encounteriing a problem.

I'm trying to connect a MySQL database with Access as the front end. I'm
running Windows XP Professional and Office XP/2003.

I've downloaded and installed the MyODBC 3.51.23 driver. Installation
runs
fine and testing the connection p*****. In Access, I can link the desired

table to Access but can't do anything with it.

Performing any task involving accessing the table causes Access to quit.
I
can't open it, build a query, nothing.

Are there modifications that can be performed to get this working?
