For some while a small Access 2000 db which I supplied has been running
reliably on a pc with Access 2003.
I received a re****t that there was a problem with corruption which
unfortunately proved to be correct. It seems that the pc has become part
of a LAN with 4 computers (all wired) three of which run this db across
the network from the original pc. The network connection on one pc (even
though wired) seems to be flaky and I suspect this may have something to
do with the corruption. In addition all 4 computers have been updated to
Access 2007.
Please could you advise me whether I should convert the original Acc2000
mdb to Acc2007, and then to split it into FE and BE? (The corruption
problem seems to have been repaired).
Also I read somewhere that split databases should not use one feature
that is present on my db. A Select query uses a function call as part of
the criteria to determine the value of a variable. This seemed like a
good idea at the time. Please could you advise whether this is a
foolhardy process!
All advice will be most appreciated.
