have two pcs connected in a peer to peer network. They do not have access
to the internet and the antivirus and firewall settings are turned off. I
have a database that was created in Access 2007 and I have the .accde file
installed on each desktop with the backend of the database residing on one
of
the PCs.
The database that will not open on both pcs at the same time. If I open
the .
accde file on the pc that does not have the .be file and THEN open the .
accde file on the pc that holds the .be file they will both open. If I
open
the .accde file on the pc that HAS the .be file and THEN open on the pc
that
does not have the .be file, it will not open. It just sits there and
clocks
forever.
Second thing is I brought a database that was written in Access 2003 that
works perfectly fine at another client with 10+ users on a network. It
behaves the same way on these two specific pcs - the .mde files will not
open
on both pcs at the same time. I only have Access 2007 installed on these
pcs
so it is opening the 2003 .mde file with Access 2007
I believe it is either something with the peer to peer network, or some
setting in access 2007 that I'm missing. The next thing I was thinking of
trying was to uninstall Access 2007 and install Access 2003 to verify if
it
is a problem with 2007 or not.
